Subject: Lowry F-106 radome

John: Good to talk with you, Thanks for returning my call. I know it was 1975 when you took the radome and associated forward sections from 0134, but these people need some memories to make it easier on the jet. I know it was a long time ago but whatever you come up with, send it to Erv and Bill (with a copy to me). Thanks again and stop in when you are in the area. Dave

Subject: Fw: F-106 Radome Ring?

Dave - Do you remember anything about this from your F-106 days there at Atlantic City? If I remember correctly, Atlantic City had a six with a bent nose (hit by a fire truck?) and made arrangements with Lowry (when 134 was a weapons training bird at Lowry) to cannonball the airworthy radome ring provided Atlantic City would fabricate some sort of radome ring (not air-worthy - of course) that would be capable of holding on the radome. I don't know if the fake radar/computer doors were put on as part of this operation. Maybe this is a figment of my imagination but I've got myself convinced that it happened and seems like Jim Day mentioned it to me also quite some time ago, like last summer when Bill from Fresno was here at Pete painting 134. If anyone can remember, please shotgun everyone with any information.

Thanks.....Erv

Subject: F-106 Radome Ring?

Jim - It looks like we are going to have to pull the radome off of our Pete F-106 134 to either repair or replace the radome if we can get one. I remember you telling me that the radome ring was removed at Lowry by Atlantic City and a homemade one was installed. Do you happen to know if anyone is around now that could give Bill Emery (from Fresno - CA ANG - who looks like he got drafted for the work) some advice on what to expect on the upcoming repair? A name and phone # would be terrific.

Thanks....Erv

ERV, I WAS WONDERING IF YOU COULD DO SOME RESEARCH FOR ME. I NEED TO KNOW IF THERE IS ANYBODY OUT THERE THAT KNOWS SOMETHING ABOUT THE RADOME ON THE PETE BIRD. MARY IS RUNNING INTO PROBLEMS WITH TAKING IT OFF. I NEED TO GET IT HERE SO WE CAN FIX IT. SOMEBODY HAD TO HAVE PUT THE THING ON SOME TIME SOME WHERE. SOMETHING TELLS ME THE RING IS THERE AND IT IS BOLTED ON AS IF IT WERE A REAL ONE. HOW ELSE COULD IT BE ATTACHED? YOU MY GIVE MY E-MAIL ADDRESS OUT. I THINK WE NEED A GOOD SHEET METAL GUY TO REMOVE THOSE FAKE SIDE PANELS AND LOOK INSIDE.    BILL
