In late 1960 or early 1961, nose art in the 319th was okay on F-106s. This "Torchy" nose art was on then Major Harley Berndt's bird. Major Berndt had "Torchy I" nose art (named for his wife) on his P-51 in WWII and continued the tradition with his F-106. The individual in the photo is unknown at this time.
