* = Aircraft originally manufactured with conventional round instruments and were called "Round Eyes". Total A Models were 71 aircraft with 23 B Models for a total of 94 1957 tail numbers originally manufactured as "Round Eyes". Combined with the 1956 tail numbers, there were 88 A Models and 23 B Models for a final total of 111 "Round Eyes" manufactured.

# = Round instrument aircraft that were converted to vertical instruments by the "TEST-TO-TACTICAL" modification in 1961. Click here to view the Convair Modification Schedule. Total "Test-To-Tac" birds were 14 1956 A Models, 14 1957 A Models & 7 1957 B Models for a total of 35 serial numbers returned to tactical use in ADC squadrons. The "Test-To-Tac" birds had new fuselages that replaced the old fuselages from the aft missle bay bulkhead foward to the radome including new cockpits & fire control.
